Dell has recently become a private company again, and it’s trying to reinvent itself as the small, nimble company that it once was. They just launched a new ad campaign that nostalgically brings its story back to the dorm room where it all began with Michael Dell building cheap custom computers for students to make extra cash.
The ad cleverly compares Dell to all the other small startups with big dreams from humble beginnings, like Skype, Dropbox and Shazzam, clipping through where each started (a cafe, a basement, a small apartment) and when.
Its been a while since those days, and Dell has became one hell of a global juggernaut in the PC manufacturing game. What do you think? Can Dell become one of the small guy again?
